Giovanna Hoffmann
Giovanna Hoffmann (born 20 September 1998) is a German footballer who plays as a forward for RB Leipzig in the Frauen-Bundesliga and for the Germany national team. She was born in Bremerhaven and started playing with SC Lehe-Spaden before joining Werder Bremen’s youth system in 2012. Hoffmann made her senior debut for Werder Bremen in October 2014. She missed the 2015–16 season due to an ankle fracture, but she returned in 2016 and helped Bremen win the second-tier title, earning promotion to the Bundesliga. From March 2018 she paused again for health reasons.
In February 2020 she transferred to SC Freiburg, but from October 2020 she suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and was out for several months. With Freiburg she reached the final of the 2022–23 German Cup. In the summer of 2024 she joined RB Leipzig, and a few months later she made her debut for the German national team. Hoffmann has represented Germany at the U16, U17 and U19 levels. As of July 2025, she has 12 senior national team caps and 3 goals.
