Gimone is a 136-kilometre-long river in southwestern France. It is a left tributary of the Garonne. The river starts in the foothills of the Pyrenees near Lannemezan on the Plateau de Lannemezan. It flows north and joins the Garonne near Castelsarrasin. From there, water from the Gimone continues to the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. The river’s basin covers about 840 square kilometres, and its average discharge is around 3 cubic metres per second.
