Ghulam Hussain Chaudry
Lieutenant Colonel Ghulam Hussain Chaudry Shaheed (1926–1971) was a Pakistani Army officer who received the Hilal-i-Jurat for bravery in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. Born in Lalian, British Punjab, he joined the Pakistan Army in 1946 and trained at the Pakistan Military Academy as part of the 6th PMA class. He served in the 3rd Battalion, The Punjab Regiment, and fought in the 1965 war as well. In 1971, Chaudry was fatally wounded while defending the Kasur border; he reportedly held the Pakistani flag when ambushed by Indian forces. The border area near Kasur is named in his honor.
