Gerard Niyungeko

Gerard Niyungeko is a Burundian legal expert who served as a judge on the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights, appointed in 2006. He was then a Professor of Law at the University of Burundi in Bujumbura, where he held the UNESCO Chair in Education for Peace and Conflict Resolution. He also works as a consultant to the African Union's Political Affairs Commission.
