George Ryan (Canadian politician)
George Ryan (August 12, 1806 – February 5, 1876) was a farmer and political figure from New Brunswick. Born in Pointe de Bute, he moved with his family to Studholm in Kings County in 1814. In 1827, he married Miriam Freeze, daughter of Samuel Freeze, a former provincial assembly member.
Ryan represented Kings in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1850 to 1856, from 1861 to 1865, and in 1866. After Confederation, he was elected to the Canadian House of Commons as a Liberal for Kings, serving in the 1st Canadian Parliament.
