Geoffrey William Hoon, born 6 December 1953 in Derby, is a British former Labour politician who served as MP for Ashfield from 1992 to 2010. Before that, he was a Member of the European Parliament for Derbyshire from 1984 to 1994. He studied law at Jesus College, Cambridge, and worked as a lecturer and barrister.

In government, Hoon held several senior positions under Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. He was Secretary of State for Defence from 1999 to 2005, then Leader of the House of Commons and Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal (2005–2006). He was Minister for Europe (2006–2007), Chief Whip of the House of Commons (2007–2008), and finally Secretary of State for Transport from October 2008 to June 2009.

After leaving Parliament in 2010, Hoon helped run a consultancy, TaylorHoon Strategy, and worked as managing director for international business at helicopter maker AgustaWestland from 2011 to 2017. Since 2017 he has chaired Twycross Zoo. He is married to Elaine Dumelow and has three children.
