General debate of the seventy-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly

The debate ran from 20 to 26 September 2022 in New York at the United Nations General Assembly Hall. President Csaba Kőrösi led the session.

Leaders from many UN member states spoke. The speaking order is: member states first, then observer states and supranational bodies. Other observer entities may speak at the end if they wish. Speakers are listed in order of request, with priority given to ministers and other high-ranking officials. Speeches can be in any UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) and will be translated. Each speaker should provide 20 advance copies of their statement.

The theme chosen for this year was: "Solutions through Solidarity, Sustainability and Science."

Since 1955, Brazil and the United States have traditionally spoken first, with the U.S. president usually speaking second. In 2022, President Joe Biden was scheduled to speak on 21 September, a day later than usual.

The list of speakers is published by the daily UN Journal, and any changes are posted on the UNGA Debate website.
