Gdecouv'R 582
Gdecouv'R 582 is a French ultralight trike designed by Jean-Michel Geay and built by Gdecouv'R in Fontaine-lès-Dijon. It is sold as a complete ready-to-fly aircraft. Geay, who previously worked for Cosmos ULM, started Gdecouv'R to supply Cosmos parts and then developed his own aircraft based on Cosmos designs. The 582 is built to meet the FAI microlight rules, including a maximum gross weight of 450 kg.
The trike features a cable-braced hang-glider-style high wing, weight-shift control, two seats in tandem in an open cockpit, tricycle landing gear, and a single engine in a pusher configuration. It is made from bolted aluminum tubing, with a double-surface wing covered in Dacron sailcloth. The standard wing is a La Mouette 9.87 m span, supported by a kingpost and an A-frame weight-shift bar.
Power comes from a Rotax 582 engine: twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 64 hp. Empty weight is 132 kg, gross weight 450 kg, giving a useful load of 318 kg. With full fuel (55 L), the payload is 278 kg. A variety of wings can be fitted to the basic carriage, including La Mouette wings.
