Gathorne Gathorne-Hardy, 3rd Earl of Cranbrook
Gathorne Gathorne-Hardy, 3rd Earl of Cranbrook (18 December 1870 – 23 December 1915) was a British hereditary noble. He was known as Lord Medway from 1906 to 1911. He was the son of John Stewart Gathorne-Hardy, 2nd Earl of Cranbrook, and Cicely Ridgway, and his aunt was Margaret Goschen. He served as a captain in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, The Buffs, and was a Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace for Kent. He became Earl in 1911 after his father. He married Lady Dorothy Montagu Boyle in 1899; she was the daughter of the 7th Earl of Glasgow and former Governor-General of New Zealand. They had five children. Cranbrook died in the First World War on 23 December 1915 at age 45. His son John succeeded him as Earl.
