The Gael Linn Cup 1960 was the top camogie competition for elite players. Leinster won the title for the fifth time, defeating Munster in the final at Cahir. Three matches were played: the semi-finals and the final.

In the semi-finals, Leinster beat Ulster 10–5 to 3–1, with Una O’Connor scoring 5–1. Munster beat Connacht 6–6 to 4–0.

The final was closer than in previous years, with Leinster just holding on to win 4–1 to 3–2. A late goal, finished by Annie Donnelly, helped seal the victory.

Leinster’s team featured Lilly Tobin (Kilkenny) in goal, with strong defence from Gerry Hughes (Dublin) and Susan Lennon (Louth). Midfield was led by Ciss Whitty (Louth), and the forwards contributed throughout.

For Munster, Terry Moloney (Tipperary) was the outstanding player, with Bridie Scully (Tipperary), Geraldine Power (Waterford), and Joan Clancy (Cork) also to the fore. The final was tighter and more hard-fought than in previous years, but Leinster still emerged champions.
