Flanders Classics
Flanders Classics is a group of race organizers in Flanders, Belgium who run the major Flemish classic cycling races together. It started in 2009 and includes seven races, with the Tour of Flanders being the most famous. The goal is to keep Flemish classics strong in the international cycling calendar and to help the smaller Flemish races grow.
The group has helped set better race dates: Gent–Wevelgem now takes place on the Sunday between Milan–San Remo and the Tour of Flanders; Scheldeprijs sits between the Tour of Flanders and Paris–Roubaix; Brabantse Pijl is held before the Ardennes classics (Amstel Gold Race, La Flèche Wallonne, Liège–Bastogne–Liège).
Since 2021, all six classic races run by Flanders Classics include both men's and women's races. In 2023, prize money became equal for men’s and women’s races. From 2025, Flanders Classics also manages and organizes the Amstel Gold Race.
Besides road races, Flanders Classics runs cyclo-cross events inside and outside Belgium. Since 2018, the Superprestige series has been organized by them in Belgium, and they also organize the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup at various venues worldwide.
