2011–12 Croatian Football Cup
The 2011–12 Croatian Football Cup was the 21st edition of Croatia’s knockout cup competition. Forty-eight teams took part, and Dinamo Zagreb were the defending champions after winning the previous year. Dinamo Zagreb went on to win the cup again, claiming their 12th title, with Osijek finishing as runners-up.
The competition began with a single-leg preliminary round on 24 August 2011. Most top-flight clubs joined in the first round proper on 21 September 2011, but Istra 1961, Karlovac, RNK Split and Zadar did not skip the preliminaries due to their cup coefficients, and Lučko and Lokomotiva failed to qualify. The preliminary round draw was held on 2 August 2011 and involved 32 clubs.
The first round proper consisted of 16 single-leg matches on 20–21 September 2011, with the 16 preliminary winners joining 16 clubs with the highest cup coefficients. A Jadran Gunja–Hajduk Split match was moved to 15 September by mutual agreement. The second round, on 26 October 2011, reduced the field to eight teams and was the last stage played as a single leg; from the quarterfinals onward, ties were two-legged. The quarterfinal draw was on 28 October, with first legs on 23 November and second legs on 30 November 2011. A Dinamo Zagreb–Istra 1961 tie was postponed to the following year because of Dinamo’s European commitments. Weather issues in the spring also caused scheduling adjustments, including moving some matches to Pula for better conditions.
In total, the cup featured 54 matches and 165 goals, with seven players tied as top scorers on three goals each.
