Fernside is a neighborhood in Alameda, California, in Alameda County. It sits about 13 feet (4 meters) above sea level and is near the Fruitvale and High Street bridges. Fernside was established in 1864. In the past, two train lines served the area: one crossed the Fruitvale Bridge and another ran along Alameda’s South Shore.
