Fate (EP)
Fate緣EP is an extended play by Cantopop singer Prudence Liew, released in 1989 and recorded in 1988. The EP, produced by Joseph Chan for Current Records, runs 18 minutes and 14 seconds. It followed her 1988 album Loving Prince 公子多情 and precedes Remixes (1989).
Sometimes credited as 緣 Fate or 緣 • 痴心誤會 Fate • Loving Misunderstanding, the EP features two tracks that were themes from TVB productions. Liew was on maternity leave in 1989, as she awaited the birth of her second child. To bridge to her next album Jokingly Saying 笑說, Current Records released this two-track set.
The first track, "緣 Fate," was the theme to The Vixen's Tale (萬家傳說) starring Roger Kwok and Sheren Tang. The second track, "痴心誤會 Loving Misunderstanding," served as the ending theme to the TV movie The Killing Lover (奪命情人), in which Liew starred alongside a then-unknown Leon Lai; this song had previously appeared on Loving Prince. This was Liew’s last studio release with Current Records before the label was bought by BMG Music in 1989.
