Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Cemetery
Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is a historic church and cemetery in Meadows of Dan, Patrick County, Virginia. Built in 1932, it is one of six “rock churches” founded by Bob Childress between 1919 and the early 1950s. The church is a one-story, rectangular building with a gabled front and a square Gothic Revival bell tower at the front. It rests on a concrete block foundation and has light wood framing walls covered with a thick quartz and quartzite fieldstone veneer. The site covers about 1 acre. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 and to the Virginia Landmarks Register in 2006.
