The Fareast 28R is a modern racing sailboat designed by Simonis-Voogd and built by Far East Boats in Jiangsu, China. It features a lifting keel with a lead bulb, a roller-furling jib, a bowsprit for an asymmetrical spinnaker, and an open deck. It is designed for fleet racing and can be sailed by 4–7 crew.

Sail area and weight details include a mainsail of 28 m2, a jib/genoa of 20 m2, and a gennaker of 72 m2. The boat weighs about 1,173 kg, with a draft of 1.75 m and a length around 9.07 m.

The 28R was named Sailing World’s 2015 Boat of the Year. The designers, Simonis-Voogd, have produced more than 200 designs. The class was recognized by World Sailing as an International Class in 2015 and can host an annual World Championship, with the first held in 2017. It is widely used for match and fleet racing and was chosen for the 2025 Inclusion Sailing World Championships for the blind racing fleet.
