Serica formosana
Serica formosana is a small beetle in the scarab family Scarabaeidae found in Taiwan. It grows to about 8 mm long. Adults are blackish-brown, lighter on the underside. The frons has sparse punctures with tiny hairs, and the antennae are yellowish-brown. The pronotum is densely punctate with punctures that bear tiny setae, and the side margins have small setae. The elytra show irregular punctation in the grooves, with the intervals also densely punctate and a narrow median stripe that is unpunctured toward the sides. Punctures carry tiny setae, and a few longer setae are near the outer margins of the elytra.
