Edge is a 2015 television pilot from Amazon Studios. It’s a Western set in Kansas and is based on the Edge book series by George G. Gilman. The story follows Josiah Hedges, known as Edge, a half-Mexican hired gunslinger who seeks revenge after his younger brother is killed by former Union Army comrades. The group is led by Merritt Harknett, a sadistic nemesis who wants something Edge possesses.

The pilot was created to launch a potential series, but Amazon did not pick it up. Critics praised the action and effects but criticized the writing and story. The Los Angeles Times said the action was well staged but noted a clash between brutal realism and the central character’s invincibility. The New York Times called it an ultraviolent western that starts with promise but devolves into gore for gore’s sake. Variety said the writing misses the mark too often.
