Fancy Dancer
Fancy Dancer is the fifth studio album by American jazz flautist Bobbi Humphrey, released in 1975 on Blue Note. It was recorded August 5–7, 1975 at Sound Factory in Hollywood, California. The album blends jazz funk and jazz fusion and runs 39 minutes and 52 seconds. Producers were Larry Mizell and Chuck Davis. It sits in Humphrey's discography after Satin Doll (1974) and before Tailor Made (1977). AllMusic critic Thom Jurek gave it 4 stars, calling it "all killer, no filler" and saying Humphrey and the Mizells created a new, largely instrumental funk that drew from world music, soul-jazz, club music and pop, which audiences embraced. In 2013, Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa sampled Fancy Dancer on their EP Live in Concert.
