Fabulous (album)
Fabulous is the fifteenth and most recent studio album by Scottish singer Sheena Easton, released on 13 November 2000. The record mainly features Euro Hi-NRG cover versions of disco hits from the 1970s and 1980s, along with two original songs. It had limited chart success in the UK (peaking at 185) but found some activity in dance clubs in London, Japan, and Australia.

- The album includes two original tracks: You Never Gave Me the Chance and Get Here to Me, plus numerous covers such as Don’t Leave Me This Way, Giving Up, Giving In, Love Is in Control, That’s What Friends Are For, Never Can Say Goodbye, Best of My Love, On My Own (a duet with Terry Ronald), Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, and more.
Singles and releases:
- The first single was a cover of Giving Up, Giving In by The Three Degrees, released 27 November 2000, which peaked at number 54 on the UK Singles Chart.
- A second single in 2001 was a double A-side of Love Is in Control (Donna Summer) with Don’t Leave Me This Way, but it was shelved and not widely released.
- In Japan, Fabulous was released in February 2001, with the first single Can’t Take My Eyes Off You (Frankie Valli) and two bonus tracks: I Need Your Lovin’ and a remix of Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.
- In Australia, the album came out on 24 February 2001, and Easton performed songs from the album at Sydney’s Mardi Gras in 2001.
Production:
- Produced by Ian Masterson and Terry Ronald; Tony Swain served as executive producer. Engineers and session players contributed brass, strings, and backing vocals, with recording taking place in London, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, and mastering at Metropolis Mastering in London.
Reception and chart performance:
- AllMusic gave Fabulous 3 out of 5 stars.
- Chart results: Australia (ARIA) 95, Japan (Oricon) 65, Sweden (Sverigetopplistan) 52, United Kingdom (Official Charts) 185.
Streaming revival:
- On 9 August 2021, Fabulous was added to Apple Music and Spotify in the United States.
