Eunice Michiles
Eunice Mafalda Michiles (born June 10, 1929) is a Brazilian writer, teacher and politician from São Paulo. She served as a Senator for Amazonas from 1979 to 1987, becoming the first woman to take a seat in the Brazilian Federal Senate since Princess Isabel. She then served as a Federal Deputy for Amazonas from 1987 to 1991, elected with the Liberal Front Party (PFL) and participating in Brazil’s 1988 Constituent Assembly that drafted the current Constitution. Over her career she belonged to several political parties. She is a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her son is Darcy Humberto Michiles.
