The 2016–17 Charleston Cougars women's basketball team represented the College of Charleston in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I season. They played in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and held home games at TD Arena in Charleston, South Carolina. Led by third-year head coach Candice M. Jackson, with assistants Bob Clark, Kelvin Long, and Adria Crawford, the Cougars finished 9–21 overall and 6–12 in CAA play, placing seventh. They were defeated by UNC Wilmington in the first round of the CAA tournament.

During the season, it was revealed that Charleston had used improperly sized basketballs in its home conference wins over William & Mary and UNC Wilmington. On February 2, the CAA announced those two games would be counted as losses for seeding purposes in the tournament, though they still counted as wins in other records.
