Estonia at the 1924 Summer Olympics
Estonia competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris with 44 men across five sports. The flag bearer was Jüri Lossmann. Estonia won six medals: 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze, finishing 17th in the medal table. The delegation was led by Leopold Tõnson and Johannes Junkur. Notable competitors included Johannes Kauba (athletics), Johannes Villemson (wrestling), and footballers William Fiskar and Aleksander Lugenberg-Mändvere. Some ethnic Estonians competed for Latvia: Juhan Oja in the 100m and 200m, and Rudolf Rone in Greco-Roman wrestling. In football, Estonia lost 0-1 to the United States (goal by Andy Straden in the 10th minute) and did not advance. Estonian athletes took part in track and field events (sprints, middle- and long-distance races, jumps and throws, and the decathlon), boxing, wrestling (Greco-Roman and freestyle), and football.
