Ermal Island
Ermal Island, or Ilha do Ermal in Portuguese, is a peninsula in the Ermal Dam in the parish of Mosteiro, Vieira do Minho, Portugal, about 25 km north of Braga. The heavy-metal festival Festival da Ilha do Ermal is held there. Bands that have played the event include Slipknot, Sepultura and Angra. The festival is also known for a 2002 incident involving Nickelback. Besides music, the festival offers activities such as rural tourism, climbing, boating and horse riding.
