Encyclia ceratistes
Encyclia ceratistes, also known as frosted rain, is a orchid species in the orchid family (Orchidaceae). It grows from southeast and southwest Mexico through Central America to the northern part of South America.
Scientific name: Encyclia ceratistes (Lindl.) Schltr.
Common name: frosted rain
Synonyms (some): Epidendrum ceratistes Lindl.; Epidendrum ramonense Rchb.f.; Encyclia ramonensis; Encyclia oncidioides var. ramonensis.
Distribution: Mexico (southeast and southwest), Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela.
Habitat: Hot to cool oak and mixed hardwood forests at elevations of about 330–1,600 meters.
