Encrucijada
Encrucijada is a town and municipality in Villa Clara Province, Cuba. It was founded in 1850 and became an official municipality in 1910. The area covers 345 square kilometers and has about 31,500 residents (2022). The municipality includes the neighborhoods of Centro, Paso Real, El Santo and Vega Redonda; in 1977 it expanded to include part of Calabazar de Sagua. Encrucijada borders Sagua la Grande, Cifuentes, Santa Clara and CamajuanĂ. It sits on a rail line that starts in Santa Clara and serves nearby towns. Three main highways run through the area: Carretera de Malezas (to Santa Clara), Highway 4-273 (to Cifuentes), and Circuito Norte (to surrounding towns).
