Electoral district of North Adelaide (short version)

North Adelaide was a former electoral district in South Australia. It sent members to the South Australian House of Assembly during two periods: 1875–1902 and 1915–1938. The district was named after the North Adelaide area in the metropolitan region of Adelaide. The district’s location is roughly 34.900°S, 138.600°E.

There was also a North Adelaide electoral district for the South Australian Legislative Council from 1851 to 1857, with John Bentham Neales as a member.

In 1902 the district was abolished, then re-established in 1915, and finally abolished again in 1938. Today, the North Adelaide area is part of the Electoral district of Adelaide, which is considered a fairly safe Liberal seat.

Notable members include Arthur Blyth, E. C. Stirling, Paddy Glynn, Frederick Birrell, Victor Newland, and Shirley Jeffries, among others.
