El Araba El Madfuna (Arabic: العربة المدفونة), meaning "the Buried Wagon," also known as Arabet Abydos, is a town in Egypt, located south of the city of Sohag in the Sohag Governorate. Its old name al-Khirba comes from the Coptic prpe, meaning "the temple," referring to the nearby ruins of Abydos. The area features ruins and monuments from Pre-Dynastic times through early Christian and Islamic periods. Visitors often come to see the temples of Seti I and Ramesses II, along with many other sites in the Abydos area.
