Eigo de Shabera Night
Eigo de Shabera Night is a Japanese talk show on NHK. It aired from March 31, 2003, to March 16, 2009, with 29-minute episodes, and continues today as occasional specials. The main language is Japanese, even though the title suggests English. The hosts are Moe Oshikiri, Patrick Harlan, and Norito Yashima. English is used when interviewing British, American, or Irish guests such as Noel Gallagher, Howard Stringer, and Colin Farrell, or when the English language is discussed. The show includes segments like Pakkun Eiken, where Patrick Harlan explains an English word and contestants must say the word, as well as London Online and The Strongest English Project in History!? At the end of 2009, regular episodes were canceled, but special editions still air irregularly.
