Eem Triplin
Eem Triplin, born Naeem Muhammad Triplin on February 13, 2001, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, is an American rapper and record producer. He attended Greater Johnstown High School, where he played percussion in the school band. Beginning in 2018, he produced music for artists like $not and sold beats online. He went viral in 2022 with “Awkward Freestyle,” a track that samples Tyler, the Creator’s “Awkward” and helped raise his profile. After signing with RCA Records, he released his first studio album, Melody of a Memory, on February 17, 2025, with DJ Dahi as executive producer. Earlier in his rise, he performed at Rolling Loud New York in 2022, earning a custom gold Xbox as a consolation gift for a small crowd, and in 2023 he opened for Lucki on the Flawless Like Me Tour and released the EP Still Pretty (July 9, 2023), followed by a North American tour announcement. In 2024 he released the lead single from Melody of a Memory and guested on Camila Cabello’s deluxe album C.XOXO. Eem is known for his plugg sound and laid-back vocals, with critics often comparing him to the rapper 454 for his hyperactive, hypnotic flow. The Fader describes him as a descendant of Duwap Kaine, noted for his loose melodicism and unapologetic hedonism. On June 24, 2025, he was named one of XXL’s Freshman 12, signaling his growing influence in rap.
