Eagle Eye Networks is an American company that provides cloud-based video surveillance for security and business operations. Founded in 2012 by Dean Drako, the company is based in Austin, Texas, and serves customers worldwide. As of 2023, it had about 487 employees and four locations.
Products and services
- Eagle Eye Cloud Security Camera Video Management System: connects analog and IP cameras to a cloud- or on-site recorder, transmits encrypted video to the cloud, and offers mobile apps for installation, remote viewing, and management. It includes alerts for motion, tampering, and camera problems, bandwidth management, and options for storing video in the cloud or on premises.
- Eagle Eye Video API: an open RESTful API that lets developers integrate video into their apps, with storage, analytics, indexing, and interfaces for live and recorded video.
- AI Video Search: uses artificial intelligence to search for people and objects across all cameras, refined by date, time, location, and camera.
Key milestones
- 2014: Eagle Eye’s first product announced; channel partner program launched; multi-million Series B funding including MSD Capital and Enrique Salem; opened a data center in Austin.
- 2015: Diebold formed an alliance with Eagle Eye to offer cloud video services; Dean Drako bought Brivo for $50 million to combine cloud access with cloud video (the two remained separate entities for a time).
- 2017: Partnership with Swift Sensors to deliver cloud-based sensor and video solutions.
- 2020: $40 million Series E funding from Accel, bringing total funding to about $100 million; funds to develop AI analytics.
- 2023: Partnered with Brivo to raise about $192 million to focus on AI in physical security; $100 million in financing from SECOM.
- 2024: Dean Drako named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Gulf South region.
- 2025: Eagle Eye Networks merged with Brivo, with Dean Drako as CEO of the new Brivo-branded company.
