Dream of Me (The Oak Ridge Boys song)
Dream of Me is a country song written by Jimmy Darrell, Raleigh Squires, and Buddy Cannon. It was recorded by Vern Gosdin and released on May 16, 1981 as the second single from the album Today My World Slipped Away. The single’s B-side is “Ain’t It Been Love.” The song runs 2 minutes and 47 seconds and was released by Ovation, produced by Blake Mevis. It reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The single followed “Too Long Gone” (1981) and preceded “Don’t Ever Leave Me Again” (1982) in Gosdin’s releases. Alison Krauss later covered the song on her 2017 solo album Windy City, produced by Buddy Cannon, one of the song’s writers.
