Downtown Philadelphia Historic District (Mississippi)
Downtown Philadelphia Historic District is a designated historic area in the city of Philadelphia, Mississippi, in Neshoba County. It covers about 70 acres (28 hectares) and is roughly bounded by Myrtle, Peachtree, Walnut, and Pecan streets. The district includes about 90 buildings and 2 objects, built in Classical Revival and Mission/Spanish Revival styles. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 14, 2005 (NRHP reference number 05000280). The district sits adjacent to the Philadelphia Historic District. Notable buildings include the 1928 Neshoba County Courthouse (Classical Revival), Ellis Theatre (circa 1927), Old Neshoba County Jail (1954), the Masonic Temple (circa 1910), and the First Presbyterian Church (1947, Colonial Revival/Cruciform).
