Diva (Jelena Karleuša album)
Diva is the tenth studio album by Serbian singer Jelena Karleuša, released on 11 June 2012 by City Records. The album has 11 tracks, including three songs released earlier: Insomnia (2009), Muškarac koji mrzi žene (2011) and Nova religija (2011). Lyrics were written by Marina Tucaković, and the music was produced by Nebojša Arežina and Marko Peruničić from Atelje Trag. Diva was issued in two editions of 50,000 copies each and was reported as the fastest-selling album by a Serbian artist. Karleuša promoted the album with her major solo concert Viva La Diva at Belgrade’s Ušće on 15 June 2013.
Background: After releasing JK Revolution in 2008, Karleuša paused to have children. She returned with the single Insomnia in December 2009. Her first big concert, All About Diva Show, was at Belgrade Arena on 16 May 2010. In January 2011 she announced the forthcoming album with a holographic performance of Muškarac koji mrzi žene. The song Nova religija followed, performed at the Big Brother finale in June 2011. All tracks on Diva were arranged and produced by Arežina and Peruničić; lyrics by Tucaković.
