Dinara Khaziyeva (born 2 August 1986 in Almaty, Kazakhstan) is a Canadian chess player who holds the Woman International Master (WIM) title, earned in 2004. She won the Women’s Canadian Chess Championship in 2004, earning a spot in the Women’s World Chess Championship that year. She represented Canada at the World Girls’ Junior Championship in 2000, finishing 28th. In the 2004 Women’s World Championship knockout event, she lost in the first round to Alisa Galliamova. She has played for Canada in the Women’s Chess Olympiads. Khaziyeva lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, and also has a residence in Montreal, Quebec. She is married to Canadian chess player Emmanuel Desmarais and works as a real estate agent. She also plays poker, with live winnings up to $55,283.
