Deshawn Stevens
Deshawn Stevens (born June 9, 1997) is a Canadian football defensive lineman for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. He’s from Toronto, Ontario, and is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 255 pounds. He played college football at Maine (2017–2020) after redshirting in 2016, then spent 2021 at West Virginia. At Maine, he appeared in 29 games with 211 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, one interception, three fumbles recovered, and a forced fumble. He transferred to West Virginia in 2021, appearing in 12 games with 12 tackles. He was ranked No. 20 in the CFL Amateur Scouting Bureau’s final rankings for 2021 and was drafted sixth overall by the Ottawa Redblacks.
Stevens signed with Ottawa on May 6, 2022, and after training camp made the opening‑day roster. In 2022 he played 18 regular‑season games, recording seven defensive tackles and six special‑teams tackles. In 2023 he appeared in 12 games with one defensive tackle and four special‑teams tackles. He began the 2024 season on the injured list, moved to the practice roster, dressed for one game, and was released on July 22, 2024. He signed with the BC Lions on December 6, 2024, was placed on their 1‑game injured list on June 10, 2025, and released on June 16, 2025. Stevens signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on July 30, 2025, and won the Grey Cup with them in 2025. He is the son of Selvin Stevens and Andrea Anderson and has four brothers and five sisters.
