Daniel Curtis Lee
Daniel Curtis Lee is an American actor, comedian, and rapper born on May 17, 1991, in Jackson, Mississippi. He moved to Long Beach, California at age 10 and earned a linguistics degree from California State University, Long Beach. He is best known for playing Simon “Cookie” Nelson-Cook on the Nickelodeon show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, which aired from 2004 to 2007. In the original 2003 pilot, Cookie was called “Boogie” and played by Stephen Markarian before Lee joined the cast. After Ned’s, he played Kornelius “Kojo” Jonesworth on the Disney XD series Zeke and Luther, and he has appeared on other TV shows like First Monday and The Shield, as well as in the film Friday After Next. He also makes music, releasing songs on Spotify and his debut album, Double Lit Double It, in 2020.
In 2023, Lee started a podcast with former Ned’s co-stars Devon Werkheiser and Lindsey Shaw called Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide, under the PodCo network. In 2024, they announced they would run the podcast themselves after ending their PodCo partnership, following a TikTok livestream controversy and ongoing talk of a Ned’s reboot. Lee was also a member of the Hollywood Knights, a celebrity basketball team.
