Dan Taylor (born December 19, 1967, in Orange, California) is an American writer, editor, and independent publisher. He grew up in Orange and attended Huntington Beach High School, then studied Radio/Television/Film at California State University, Long Beach.

Taylor began making comics in 2001 with the self-published Super Hero Happy Hour through his GeekPunk company. The parody superhero book eventually dropped the “Super” from the title due to trademark concerns, becoming Hero Happy Hour. He and co-creator Chris Fason also published Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks and Hero Happy Hour Vs. The Supreme Leader. Notable works also include Armarauders: The Last Battalion and Donald of the Dead.

In April 2005, he joined IDW Publishing as an editor, working on The Transformers and other IDW titles. He left IDW in 2008 to focus on writing.

Taylor lives in Costa Mesa, California, with his wife Katie West-Taylor, daughter Jean Louise Taylor, dogs Scioscia and Scully, and cat Quint.
