Cyperus marginatus is a sedge in the Cyperaceae family. It was described by Thunberg in 1794. This plant is native to Africa, including Angola, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, and Eswatini in the south, and Kenya in the east. It has several synonyms, such as Cyperus blandus, Cyperus fonticola, Cyperus prionodes, Cyperus brunneovaginatus, Cyperus marginatus var. blandus, and Eucyperus bruneovaginatus.
