CP Class 1320
CP Série 1320 were a small class of diesel locomotives used by Comboios de Portugal (CP). They arrived in 1989 as surplus units bought second-hand from Spain’s Renfe. The locomotives originated as Renfe Class 1300, later renumbered to Class 313, and were built in the 1960s by Euskalduna under licence. Only the licence-built version was exported to Portugal, and in CP service they wore the orange CP livery.
Eighteen units were acquired from Renfe. Seventeen were withdrawn in 1997, and today all have been withdrawn from service. Locomotive 1331 is preserved by AREMAF in Villaverde Bajo, Madrid, with plans to restore it to its original Renfe 1300/313 appearance as 313.030.
