Ctenostoma agnatum
Ctenostoma agnatum is a tiger beetle found in Ecuador, Peru, and western Brazil. It lives in primary forests. Adults are medium-sized, about 10.5 to 11 mm long. They look ant-like, with a shiny dark brown to black head and pronotum. The wing covers (elytra) are black with yellow patches and bands. They have short wings (brachypterous). When threatened, they roll up and fall to the ground, where they stay very still.
