Cryptolarynx luteipennis is a tiny beetle found in South Africa. It belongs to the weevil family. Adults are about 1.8 to 2.6 millimeters long and have a black body with reddish antennae, legs, and tarsi. They have been recorded along the West Coast between Velddrif and the Clanwilliam area. Specimens were found near stands of Oxalis plants (including Oxalis obtusa), but the exact host plant is unknown. All collected individuals were found in July and August. The name luteipennis refers to orange or yellowish shading on the wing covers, which helps camouflage the beetles on pinkish-orange sand near Graafwater.
