Cotton Plateau

Cotton Plateau is a snow-covered high plain in Antarctica, located in the western part of the Queen Elizabeth Range just east of Marsh Glacier’s mouth. It is bounded by Marsh Glacier to the west, Prince of Wales Glacier and Hamilton Glacier to the east, and Princess Anne Glacier to the south. It was named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition for Sir Charles Cotton, a noted New Zealand geomorphologist who studied glacial landforms.

Nearby features (north to south)

- Prince Edward Glacier: a glacier near the northern side of the area.
- Panorama Point: a point on the northwest side of Cotton Plateau that overlooks the junction of Marsh and Nimrod Glaciers; named for its excellent views.
- The Palisades: a steep escarpment on the west side of Cotton Plateau overlooking Marsh and Nimrod Glaciers; named for its wall-like appearance at the junction of two rivers.

Other notable features
- Komhyr Ridge: a prominent ridge just east of Hochstein Ridge, named for meteorologist Walter D. Komhyr.
- Gregory Mountain: a 2,940-meter-high peak at the south end of Hochstein Ridge, the only large rise from the plateau; named for geologist M. Gregory.
