Copa Perú is a long-running Peruvian football competition that acts as the pathway from amateur clubs to Peru’s professional leagues. It started in 1967 and is currently the fourth level in the country’s league system. It’s not a single knockout cup for all teams; instead, it’s a sequence of league rounds that start at the district level and lead up to a national competition, with regional clubs taking part.

The format has five stages:
- District Stage: small local leagues determine district winners (February–May).
- Provincial Stage: district winners form groups to advance (June–July).
- Departmental Stage: departmental leagues decide more qualifiers (July–September).
- National Stage: the 50 departmental qualifiers compete in a national round starting in September, using a regional group system.
- Finalísima: the four semi-finalists meet in Lima in a final group stage; the winner and runner-up are promoted.

Promotions and recent changes: Copa Perú is the main route to Liga 2 (the second division). In recent reforms, a new Liga 3 was introduced as the fourth tier, while Copa Perú continues to function as the major promotion path to Liga 2. Notable facts include current champions Unión Minas (2025), the most titles held by Atlético Torino (5), and DirecTV as the broadcaster.
