Cochlospermum
Cochlospermum is a genus of tropical trees. They belong to the Bixaceae family (though some classifications place them in their own Cochlospermaceae). The trees grow in warm tropical regions around the world, especially in Latin America, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and Australia. One well-known species, Cochlospermum tinctorium, has been used to make a yellow dye for leather and fabrics. The genus is part of the Malvales order of flowering plants.
