Claysville, Pennsylvania
Claysville is a small borough in Washington County, western Pennsylvania. It covers about 0.3 square miles and has around 730 residents. Since 1950 it has been part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1812 and is named after the statesman Henry Clay. Claysville Elementary School, in the McGuffey School District, serves local students. The Montgomery House, a historic building on the borough’s western edge, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Claysville is also the birthplace of Benjamin Franklin Jones of the Jones and Laughlin Steel Company.
