Ciucurova is a commune in Tulcea County, Northern Dobruja, Romania. It has three villages: Atmagea, Ciucurova, and Fântâna Mare (historical name Başpunar). The name comes from Turkish Çukurova, meaning “low plain.” The commune lies in the southwestern part of Tulcea County, about 47 kilometers from Tulcea, the county seat. The DN22d road passes through, linking Măcin to Constanța.
