Daniel van Tonder (born 12 March 1991) is a South African professional golfer who competes mainly on the Sunshine Tour and the Challenge Tour, with status on the European Tour for 2026. He turned pro in 2011 and began on the Sunshine Tour, where he has 12 wins, including the 2014 Investec Royal Swazi Open and Vodacom Origins of Golf at Euphoria, plus the 2019 Mopani Redpath Greendoor Logistics Zambia Open. In 2020 he won four Sunshine Tour events in three months.

Van Tonder’s first European Tour win came at the 2021 Kenya Savannah Classic, after a playoff with Jazz Janewattananond. In December 2021 he won the SA Open Championship, the Sunshine Tour’s flagship event, finishing with a final-round 65 to beat Oliver Bekker by one shot.

In early 2025 he won the opening two Challenge Tour events (co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour) and was aiming for a third consecutive win at the Cell C Cape Town Open, where he finished tied for sixth. He won the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit for 2024–25 and finished ninth on the Challenge Tour that season, earning status for the 2026 European Tour.

His best major finishes are T40 at The Open in 2021 and T44 at the PGA Championship in 2021; he has not played in the Masters or the US Open. His highest world ranking was 71 in January 2022.

Off the course, he is married to Abigail van Tonder, who has also acted as his caddie. He is 5 ft 10 in tall.
