Circus Girl (film)
Circus Girl is a 1937 American action film directed by John H. Auer. It was written by Adele Buffington and Bradford Ropes, produced and released by Republic Pictures, and stars June Travis, Robert Livingston, Donald Cook, Betty Compson, Charles Murray, and Lucille Osborne. The movie runs 66 minutes and is in English.
Plot
Trapeze artists Bob McAvoy and Charlie Jerome have a successful act and both fall for Kay Rogers, who also wants to become a circus performer. Kay secretly marries Charlie, who is also involved with Carlotta, the lion tamer. After a fight between the men, Charlie is injured and believes Bob caused the fall. Charlie plots revenge by pretending to manage a new act featuring Bob and Kay, but secretly sabotages the rig. When Bob performs without a net, he is about to fall into a den of lions. Kay tries to save him, and Charlie’s conscience gets the better of him; he rescues Bob but dies in the fall.
