Chris Löwe
Chris Jörg Löwe (born 16 April 1989) is a German former footballer who played as a left-back. He was born in Plauen, East Germany, and began his career with 1. FC Wacker Plauen and Chemnitzer FC, turning professional with Chemnitzer in 2007. He later played for Borussia Dortmund (including Dortmund II), 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Huddersfield Town, Dynamo Dresden, and finished his career with Chemnitzer FC.
Across his career he made 375 league appearances and scored 18 goals. He won the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal with Borussia Dortmund in 2012.
Key moments include his competitive debut for Dortmund in the 2011 DFL-Supercup against Schalke and his league debut in August 2011 against Hamburger SV. In 2016, he moved to Huddersfield Town on a three-year contract, debuting in August 2016 and scoring his first goal soon after. He helped Huddersfield reach the Championship playoff final and secure promotion to the Premier League in 2017 by defeating Reading in Wembley’s playoff final.
Löwe joined Dynamo Dresden in May 2019 and announced his retirement from professional football in March 2024.
